How to set up two-factor authentication

Protect a password-based Flinq account with an authenticator app and recovery codes.

Katrin Erb Written by Katrin Erb Updated Published

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a time-based code to password sign-in.

Before you start

Install an authenticator app that supports time-based one-time passwords. Keep access to the email address and password associated with your Flinq account.

Set up 2FA

  1. Sign in with your email address and password.

  2. When prompted, open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown by Flinq.

  3. Enter the current six-digit code to confirm the setup.

  4. Save the recovery codes in a secure password manager or approved secure location.

After setup, enter a current authenticator code whenever Flinq requests the second factor.

Use a recovery code

If the authenticator device is unavailable, choose the recovery-code option and enter one unused code. Each recovery code works once.

If you lose all access

Contact an Organisation admin or Flinq support through your approved support channel. Be prepared to complete your organisation's identity-verification process before authentication is reset.
